JEWELLERY CARE & SIZING
Caring For Your Jewellery
Each piece of Vicky Lew London jewellery is handcrafted and one-of-a-kind. Therefore, it can be more delicate and can require just that little bit of extra consideration.
To keep your jewellery at its best, always store it in its box away from other jewellery, so pieces do not rub and scratch against each other. Take care not to drop, knock or scratch. Take off your jewellery when you go swimming, bathing, showering, doing household task or whilst exercising.
Plated items can be cleaned with warm soapy water and a very soft baby’s toothbrush, then dry with a soft cloth. Please do not use any impregnated jewellers cloth, as it will start to polish off the plating of the jewellery.
Hand wash, perfumes, chlorine, detergents and oils can all cause tarnishing and damage to the surface finish. Apply scents or cosmetics before you put on any jewellery. Plating will wear off naturally over time. Always remove your jewellery when applying perfume, lotions, makeup and hair products. Avoid applying perfume to skin, which may come in contact with pearls.
Certain metals interacting with moisture and humidity can sometimes cause a greenish blue marking on the skin. It is harmless but may provoke a reaction in people who are allergic to nickel.
We offer a re-conditioning service to make sure your jewellery stays in pristine condition, please email us at info@vickylew.com for more information about this service.
